Gio's 91 EF Si

THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN MYTHIS CAR HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND THAT'S ONE REASON WHY I STILL HOLD ONTO IT TO THIS DAY. MY UNCLE OWNED IT FOR 10 YEARS AND AFTER HE FINISHED COLLEGE IT JUST KIND OF SAT AROUND IN HIS BACKYARD. THAT HAPPENED TO BE AROUND THE SAME TIME I GOT MY LICENSE, AND THAT'S WHEN I ENDED UP GETTING IT. I’VE NOW OWNED IT FOR 10 YEARS AND DON’T PLAN ON GETTING RID OF IT. I LOVED THE BODYLINES AND MY FAVORITE COLOR IS GREEN SO IT WAS JUST MEANT TO BE. WHEN I FIRST GOT IT I DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MODIFYING HONDA'S, BUT I WANTED TO LEARN AND HAD A GREAT PLATFORM.
I MET MY BUDDY ANGELO ARAYATA IN HIGH SCHOOL, HE ALSO HAD A RED EF SO WE JUST CLICKED. HE REALLY BROUGHT ME UP TO SPEED WITH TRADITIONAL JDM STYLING. WHEN I STARTED MODIFYING MY EF SHAVED BAYS WERE ALL THE RAGE, AND FORUMS LIKE NWP AND HONDA-TECH WERE BLOWING UP. I LOVED HOW SHAVED BAYS LOOKED AND WAS SET ON DOING THE SAME TO MY CAR. I DID ALL OF THE BODYWORK IN THE BAY MYSELF AND HAD MY FRIEND PAINT IT FOR ME. I WORKED AT A SHOP AT THE TIME SO MY COWORKERS SHOWED ME HOW TO DO A FULL REBUILD ON MY MINI ME SWAP. IT'S GOT BASIC UPGRADES LIKE A PORTED HEAD, SHOT PEENED RODS, ARP ROD BOLTS, ARP HEAD STUDS, AND A COMP CAM.
ONCE THE ENGINE WAS DONE AND I HAD ALL THE FUEL AND BRAKE LINES PLUMBED IT WAS TIME FOR THE WIRING. ANGELO AND I TRIED TO MAKE A HARNESS BUT WE COULD NEVER GET IT TO WORK LOL, SO I SAVED UP AND GOT A RYWIRE MIL-SPEC HARNESS WITH QUICK DISCONNECT. THE CAR WAS FINALLY DRIVEABLE AND I TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO THE EIBACH MEET! I'VE MET A LOT OF COOL PEOPLE FROM TAKING MY CAR TO MEETS AND STILL HAVE GOOD FRIENDSHIPS TO THIS DAY BECAUSE OF IT. IT TOOK A WHILE FOR THE CAR TO GET TO WHERE ITS AT NOW. THERE WERE TIMES IT SAT FOR YEARS AND I JUST FORGOT ABOUT IT, BUT A COUPLE YEARS AGO I WAS READY TO BRING IT BACK OUT.
THAT'S WHEN I ORDERED A CHARGESPEED WING AND EF9 FRONT LIP. I CUT THE BRAND NEW LIP UP AND FIBERGLASSED IT TO FIT THE USDM BUMPER. THAT IS PRETTY MUCH MY FAVORITE PART OF THE WHOLE CAR BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE HAS ONE LIKE IT. I WANTED THE CAR TO LOOK LIKE SOMETHING YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN ON THE STREET IN THE 90'S. SO THE LAST PIECE OF THE PUZZLE WAS GETTING THE SET OF HEROES RACING WHEELS. IT JUST COMPLETED THE WHOLE LOOK FOR ME AND I’VE JUST BEEN DRIVING IT SINCE THEN. I HAVE MORE IDEAS OF WHAT I WANT TO DO TO THE CAR, BUT I'M PRETTY MUCH DONE FOR NOW AND AM HAPPY WITH THE WAY IT IS.
